Câu mệnh lệnh (imperative sentences): verb + object/ do not + verb + object → dạng bị động được thành lập bằng cách dùng động từ LET.
Let + object + be + past participle
Ex:
- Finish the job at once. → Let the job be finished at once. (_Hãy kết thúc công việc ngay._)
- Open the door. → Let the door be opened. (_Hãy mở cửa._)
Let + object + not + be + past participle
Ex:
- Do not beat the dog. → Let the dog not be beaten. / Let not the dog be beaten. (_Đừng đánh con chó._)
- Don't touch it. → Let it not be touched. (_Đừng chạm vào._)
Chúng ta cũng có thể dùng cấu trúc câu với _you_ để nhấn mạnh: _You are requested/ advised/ warned/ ordered..._
Ex:
- Finish the job at once. → You are ordered to finish the job at once.
- Don't touch it. → You are warned not to touch it.
